This 125-Minute Historical Epic Is the Perfect Weekend Binge for 'The Passion of the Christ' Fans

Having witnessed a resurgence in recent years, biblical movies are more popular than they have been since Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ over two decades ago. It was mainly because of this renewed faith in the genre that the long-awaited follow-up to The Passion of the Christ was finally green-lit. What's more, it was announced that the project would be released as a two-parter. More recently, it was reported that the second installment of Gibson's follow-up would be released a year later than originally planned, which indicates confidence on the studio's part. Combined with the recent box-office success of movies such as The King of Kings and the streaming dominance of shows such as House of David, the religious sphere has never been in a better space.
