'World War Z' Officially Returns With New Sequel in Development




Although George A. Romero popularized the modern concept of a zombie with Night of the Living Dead back in 1978, it wasn't until the 2000s and 2010s that the undead began taking over pop culture. Fueled by Romero's other films and Eastern hits like the Resident Evil video games, the world became infected with zombie fever, spawning iconic movies and other media left and right, like 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, and more. Cinema has mostly moved on, though this realm of monster movies is far from dead, and some of these past titles are still being revisited, as evidenced by the release of 28 Years Later and its sequel, The Bone Temple.
