Ridley Scott's 10/10 Sci-Fi Horror Masterpiece Is Quietly Surging Ahead of Sequel

The king of sci-fi, Ridley Scott, is finally returning to the genre later this year with the premiere of The Dog Stars, the new post-apocalyptic epic starring Josh Brolin and Jacob Elordi. Scott has been on a hiatus from the sci-fi genre in recent years after directing historical epics like Napoleon and Gladiator II, but he's ready to return to his roots with the groundbreaking new release, which is launching in theaters around the world on August 28. While Scott hasn't directed any sci-fi movies or TV shows since Alien: Covenant in 2018, he has been involved as a producer in sci-fi projects like Alien: Earth, the highly bingeable sci-fi series returning for Season 2 next year. Scott is the creator of the Alien franchise, and he is still consulted on the latest projects, now almost 50 years removed from the premiere of Alien.
