Tom Hanks' Binge-Worthy World War II Series Is a #1 Late-Night Favorite

When it comes to the World War II genre, few actors have starred in as many high profile projects as Tom Hanks. The first feature film that immediately comes to mind is Saving Private Ryan, the 1998 Oscar-winning film directed by Steven Spielberg. Matt Damon also has a key role in the film, which grossed nearly $500 million at the box office — no small total for a movie almost 30 years old. Hanks and Spielberg reunited a few years ago to produce a new series for Apple TV, Masters of the Air, which has been described as Top Gun: Maverick set during the days of WWII. Masters of the Air wasn't Hanks' first WWII project on Apple TV, though. That title belongs to Greyhound, his hit naval thriller that performed so well that Apple TV greenlit a sequel to the film.
