Prime Video's 50-Episode Psychological Horror Is So Good, It Goes Way Beyond the Books It's Based On




Psycho lives rent-free in the minds of generations of movie fans, a masterpiece of horror from the "Master of Suspense," Alfred Hitchcock. The film has ingrained itself so deeply in pop culture that few, if any, know that the movie is an adaptation of a 1959 horror novel by Robert Bloch. The writer wrote two sequels, Psycho II and Psycho House, while the film spawned three sequels, the first of which, Psycho II(unrelated to Bloch's novel), was released three years after Hitchcock's death in 1980. It also was victimized as the infamous shot-for-shot 1998 remake Psycho, and a largely forgettable 1987 made-for-TV horror film, Bates Motel.
