'Stranger Things' Officially Returns to Netflix in 2026 With New Episodes




Netflix has officially locked down the sci-fi genre with some of the biggest movies and TV shows on streaming. Earlier this year, Netflix unleashed its last epic sci-fi thriller, War Machine, starring Reacher veteran Alan Ritchson. After picking up over 140 million views, War Machine has officially cracked the all-time Netflix top 10, and the streamer wasted no time confirming that a sequel is in the works. Netflix found another hit sci-fi show earlier this year with The Boroughs, which was produced by Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of Stranger Things. Despite mostly positive reception and solid viewership, the series was canceled after only one season — Netflix cited financial reasons for not continuing the show beyond Season 1, with the show not earning enough views to justify its considerable cost.
