His understated emotional performance as a military engineer who's training to be an Army Ranger in memory of the brother he lost, touched a nerve with the global audience. He was also seen as a stay-at-home dad, Jeff, in Playdate, starring alongside Kevin James. The buddy action film made for streaming brought out the comedic best in Ritchson, which we get to see sparingly on screen. Director Luke Greenfield makes the most out of Ritchson's "action star" image and gives it a brilliant naïve spin that made fans appreciate the film even more.
