Apple TV's first big sci-fi project of 2025 came early in the year with the long-awaited second season of Severance. After going on hiatus for a few years, Severance returned with a bang, earning a Season 3 renewal and sky-high reviews and viewership. Apple TV followed Severance with the only show to ever beat its ratings on streaming, Pluribus, which comes from the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Vince Gilligan. We're quickly approaching a full year since Pluribus Season 1 first arrived on Apple TV, and while it has been picked up for Season 2, Gilligan has confirmed that it may be a while before the show returns to streaming.
