Ridley Scott's 148-Minute Historical Epic Gets a Second Chance 2 Years Later

Ryan Murphy could probably reactivate his dormant Feud franchise with a new season focusing on Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott. The two worked together on four movies in a row a few years after the success of Gladiator, but abruptly stopped collaborating following the underperformance of Robin Hood in 2010. In the months leading up to the release of Gladiator II, both Crowe and Scott made comments about each other. Crowe didn't seem too pleased about not being asked to return, even though he'd reportedly spent time plotting a sequel. Scott was firm in the belief that his character, who dies at the end of the first film, should stay dead. Following the release of Gladiator II, Crowe publicly stated that the movie was a letdown. More recently, he reiterated his comments about the sequel, which promptly spiked on Paramount+ worldwide.
