After reprising his role as Stoic the Vast in the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon, which became his highest-grossing hit, Gerard Butlerdelivered one of his biggest commercial disappointments. Earlier this year, he starred in Greenland 2: Migration, which grossed just $44 million worldwide against a reported budget of $90 million. Greenland 2 was always expected to do better at home than in theaters, and it certainly has been redeeming itself on the PVOD and streaming markets. However, a 2017 sci-fi movie headlined by Butler was designed as a theatrical tent pole, but it ended up underperforming at the box office and reportedly lost more than $70 million.
