Netflix's 143-Minute Action Thriller Shoots to Success on Streaming

Netflix has dropped plenty of big movies and TV shows this year, and one of the first projects that comes to mind is War Machine. The new sci-fi thriller starring Alan Ritchson has successfully become the most-watched Netflix movie of 2026, earning enough views to crack the streamer's all-time top 10, taking the spot from The Gray Man (starring Ryan Gosling). Netflix also rolled out its big sci-fi show of 2026 after wrapping up Stranger Things in The Boroughs, which was even produced by Matt and Ross Duffer (creators of Stranger Things). However, the sci-fi show was canceled while it was still in the global streaming top 10, as it wasn't earning the viewership it needed to warrant another season. Fans who aren't a fan of whatever Netflix has pushed out on any given weekend usually don't have to wait too long for a project more in line with their tastes, though.
