Ridley Scott Officially Teams With 'Godzilla Minus One' Director for New Sci-Fi Movie




Ridley Scott has been on hiatus from the sci-fi genre since Alien: Covenant in 2018 as he's worked primarily on big-budget historical epics, such as Napoleon (starring Joaquin Phoenix) and Gladiator II (starring Denzel Washington). Neither film was met with a warming reception, especially Napoleon, which was heavily criticized for its historical inaccuracies. Even original Gladiator star Russell Crowe went public earlier this year with a critical review of Gladiator II, saying the film failed because it lacked the same soul and moral compass of the original film. Scott will return to the world of sci-fi this August for his new release, The Dog Stars, starring Josh Brolin and Jacob Elordi. The film was previously scheduled to launch in March before being delayed to give the post-production and editing team the extra time to make sure it's fully polished.
