Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' Officially Defeats DC's Best Fantasy Movie at the Box Office




Having braved the onslaught of Spider-Man: Brand New Day this past weekend, The Odyssey is still on track to hit the $1 billion mark at the global box office in a matter of days. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the movie will likely also overtake The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises to become his highest-grossing hit at the global box office. The Odyssey was always going to do well, but few would have expected it to challenge some of the biggest superhero hits of the last few years, especially with a daunting 173-minute runtime and a restrictive R rating. That said, the movie has already overtaken several major Marvel Cinematic Universe hits, and has now surpassed the lifetime domestic haul of arguably the best DC Extended Universe movie.
