Ridley Scott's New Sci-Fi Thriller Is Officially Making People Read Again




Ridley Scott is moving full steam ahead as he prepares to bring his first sci-fi movie in almost 10 years to theaters this weekend, but it's having more of an effect than fans were expecting. Scott's last sci-fi film came all the way back in 2017 when he helmed Alien: Covenant, which also served as his final time directing a project in the Alien franchise. Scott has focused much more on historical epics in the last few years with ambitious directorial efforts on films like Napoleon (starring Joaquin Phoenix) and Gladiator II (starring Denzel Washington). It's been quite a while since Scott had a pure box office hit, and even if he misses with The Dog Stars, he'll have another shot soon thanks to his Treasure Island remake with Hugh Jackman and, hopefully, Owen Cooper and Hugh Grant.
