Neil Young's 1970 Masterpiece Is Still Rock's Greatest Protest Song

Not many songs in rock history have successfully captured the powerful urgency of Neil Young's "Ohio." The classic song was released in 1970 by David Crosby, Graham Nash, Stephen Stills and Neil Young. The song was written in response to one of the most talked about events during the Vietnam War. This powerful protest song would not exist without the tragic Kent State shootings that occurred in 1970. Over 50 years later, the hit song remains the standard for protest songs, despite it having less to do with political arguments and more so, because it initiated national outrage into four unforgettable minutes.
