It's the End of an Era for One of the Best Neo-Noir Movies of the Decade

One of the most intriguing movies of the summer is The End of Oak Street, directed by David Robert Mitchell. It's his first new film in nearly a decade, a gap as long as the one Steven Spielberg had between his two sci-fi films — Ready Player One and Disclosure Day. Mitchell's new film also marks a return to mystery box moviemaking for producer J.J. Abrams, who used to make movies like this very often back in the day. The End of Oak Street stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, and will be released theatrically by Warner Bros. in August, around a month after Hathaway appears in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Audiences can gear up for Mitchell's new movie by checking out his overlooked neo-noir gem, which certainly deserves the attention and is available to access on Netflix. But not for much longer.
