Last year saw Sydney Sweeney don the gloves in the biopic Christy, documenting the life of legendary boxer Christy Martin, while 2026 will mark the premiere of Giant, tackling the life and rise of icon Prince Naseem "Naz" Hamed and his relationship with his trainer, played by Pierce Brosnan. The genre encapsulates rivalry, spectacle, underdog stories, personal endurance, the fighting spirit, and often working-class struggles. Premiering this summer, They Fight explores the inspirational side, following an ex-con seeking redemption by coaching young fighters at a local gym.
