Apple TV's Mind-Bending Sci-Fi Hit Is Taking Over the Planet




Few streaming services have had the same success in the sci-fi genre as Apple TV, which has consistently produced some of the strongest shows in that category for years now. One of the first series to help launch the platform was See, the dystopian sci-fi epic starring Jason Momoa that ran for three seasons between 2019 and 2022. The same year that See went off the air, Apple TV filled the gap it was leaving behind with Severance, another dystopian sci-fi series with a much more modern setting. Severance was immediately hailed as a modern masterpiece, but the COVID-19 pandemic and WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes caused a massive delay between seasons, leading to the show going on hiatus for over three years. Severance was renewed for Season 3, but now that it's been over a year since the Season 2 finale, the show may experience yet another long gap between seasons.
