Josh Brolin Nearly Quit Ridley Scott's New Sci-Fi Movie After 1 Day

In the two decades since Josh Brolin last worked with Ridley Scott, the filmmaker's working style has greatly evolved. Brolin found out the hard way after landing in Italy to work on The Dog Stars, Scott's upcoming sci-fi movie. The actor was so taken aback by Scott's newfound freewheeling process that he called his agent at the end of his first day at work and demanded to be let go. He was advised to sleep on it, and he ended up falling in love with Scott's process soon afterward. In recent years, Scott has divided crew members by working with multiple cameras simultaneously. Unlike Quentin Tarantinoor Christopher Nolan, who plan each and every shot, Scott shoots scenes from several, sometimes half-a-dozen angles, and cuts the shots together in the editing room.
