CBS Officially Confirms Early Return for Revamped NCIS Slate




The NCIS franchise has long been one of CBS' staples, but the 2026/27 season might be particularly critical for the long-running procedural. After the flagship passed its 500th episode earlier this year, there's been a seemingly endless torrent of big announcements regarding the future. Most recently, both the original series and its prequel spin-off, NCIS: Origins, set the returns of some NCIS royalty, with Mark Harmon appearing once more in Gibbs' origin story, and Michael Weatherly rejoining the main team following the end of the Paramount+ spin-off, NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Biggest of all, however, was the announcement that LL COOL J's Sam Hanna would be back on the payroll with a new series, NCIS: New York.
