Paramount+'s 'Resurrection' of a Long-Dormant Crime Thriller Is Killing It on Streaming




Once it was added to Netflix a few years ago, the Dexter franchise experienced quite the resurrection — no pun intended. Dexter had long been one of the most popular shows of the 2000s, but it's safe to say that fans had come to terms with there not being any more content from the franchise after the ill-fated New Blood season. Dexter's resurgence on Netflix and subsequent success on Paramount Plus forced Paramount to begin developing new Dexter shows, and the first to hit the small screen was Dexter: Original Sin. The prequel series starred Patrick Gibson (007 First Light) as a young Dexter Morgan, and despite it being renewed for Season 2, Paramount ultimately changed its mind and decided to cancel the show. This left only one Dexter series left standing, and it's officially picking up steam for Season 2.
