'Rocky' Officially Returns With a Brand-New 50th Anniversary Release [Exclusive]




Rocky tells the tale of down-on-his-luck Philadelphia fighter Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone, who also penned the script), who gets a chance to fight heavyweight champ Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). While he's not expected to put up much of a fight, Balboa's determined to go the distance, with the help of cantankerous trainer Mickey (Burgess Meredith), his best friend Paulie (Burt Young), and his new girlfriend Adrian (Talia Shire). The movie became a surprise hit and won three Oscars, including Best Picture; it also spawned a host of sequels and rocketed Stallone to superstardom.
