Netflix's 'Yellowstone' Replacement Has Officially Been Cancelled




We're now well past the turn of the year, and although Netflix has already released some of its most popular projects of all time, the streamer is moving full steam ahead into the final few months of 2026. The biggest eye-popping release for Netflix so far this year has been War Machine, the big-budget sci-fi thriller starring Alan Ritchson from Prime Video's Reacher. In its search to replace Stranger Things after it ended at the start of the year, Netflix even enlisted its creators Matt and Ross Duffer to produce a new sci-fi show, The Boroughs, which dropped on the streamer earlier this summer. Despite strong viewership and mostly positive reviews, Netflix decided that the show would not get a second season — the streamer even announced this while the show was in the global top 10.
